LARIAT at European Researchers’ Night

On Friday, September 26, the Student Dormitory in Dubrovnik hosted the European Researchers’ Night – Blue-Connect 2.0, an event that, from 5 PM to 10 PM, attracted a large number of children, young people, families, and curious visitors.

The event also featured representatives of LARIAT:
Dinka Lale at the booth “Drops from the Depths of the Sea”
Iva Pozniak at the “EU Corner”
Their participation enriched the program by bringing visitors closer to the secrets of the marine world and highlighting the importance of European projects.

Throughout the evening, a total of 18 workshops and interactive activities took place – from stargazing through a telescope and learning seafaring skills, to exploring invasive species and the impact of climate change. Visitors could also try out resuscitation basics, test the authenticity of olive oil, learn about financial literacy, green chemistry, and discover new technologies such as holograms, AR, and VR.

Through play, experiments, and hands-on activities, participants explored science, nature, and society, while quizzes, competitions, and creative challenges added a fun dimension to the event.

👏 The European Researchers’ Night once again demonstrated the importance of connecting science with the community. The University of Dubrovnik enthusiastically continues its participation in this European initiative and is already looking forward to welcoming citizens again at the European Researchers’ Night 2026. 🌍🔬
