Trondheim, Norway – June 4–5, 2025 – Ivana Palunko, representing LARIAT-UNIDU, took part as a project presenter at the 11th Workshop on EU-funded Marine Robotics and Applications (EMRA 2025), held at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.
This year’s EMRA conference brought together leading experts, researchers, industry stakeholders, and end users from the field of marine robotics and intelligent systems. The event featured a rich two-day programme (June 4–5), with over 20 speakers from across Europe, sharing insights from ongoing EU-funded projects and industrial applications. EMRA 2025 also included a joint programme with master students and researchers from the MIR – Erasmus Mundus Marine and Maritime Intelligent Robotics programme, emphasizing the event’s commitment to education, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Ivana Palunko contributed to the “Project Presentations” session with two impactful presentations, followed by Q&A, showcasing LARIAT’s involvement in cutting-edge marine research:
ONE-BLUE: Integrated approach to assess the levels and impact of contaminants of emerging concern on BLUE health and biodiversity modulated by climate change drivers.
SEACLEAR 2.0: Scalable Full-cycle Marine Litter Remediation in the Mediterranean: Robotic and Participatory Solutions.
Her presentations highlighted the critical role of robotic technologies and integrative methodologies in addressing environmental challenges in European and Mediterranean marine ecosystems.
EMRA has established itself as a key interdisciplinary platform for marine robotics since its inception, with previous editions held in cities such as Rome, Lisbon, Newcastle, Girona, Limerick, Toulon, Pisa (online), Southampton, Šibenik, and Arenzano.
