On April 27 and 28 the roundtable jointly organized by the projects InnovaMare and Sushi Drop

The Adriatic Sea is facing major impacts from overfishing and pollution: solid waste, direct discharge of wastewater and oil pollution are key negative factors for the degradation of coastal and marine ecosystems. The Interreg Italy-Croatia InnovaMare and Sushi Drop projects aim at responding to the challenges of sustainability in the Adriatic Sea with innovative solutions, whose collaboration is marked by the roundtable to be held on 27 and 28 April online and in Zadar, Croatia.

The aim of the event is to bring together stakeholders, including decision makers (at national, local and regional level), representatives of the scientific community and businesses, in order to involve them in a discussion on the development of innovative solutions, through the innovation ecosystem in the blue growth.

The scope of both projects is monitoring the state of health of the Adriatic Sea: Sushi Drop, coordinated by the University of Bologna, deals with the development of custom drones (UUV technology) with acoustic equipment and optical technology, and for the development of non-invasive methods of environmental habitat assessment, fish stocks and general monitoring of marine ecosystem biodiversity in areas where classical sampling is not possible; InnovaMare, coordinated by the Croatian Chamber of Economy and which has Lariat among its partners, aims at developing and establishing an innovation ecosystem model in underwater robotics and sensors sector, for the purposes of monitoring and surveillance of pollution in the Adriatic Sea.

The main topics of the event will be the collaboration among companies, the public sector, research centers and universities for the development of innovative solutions for the marine sector and its economy. Participation to the roundtable is free: it can be attended online, registering through the form on this [link] until Monday, April 26, 2021.

A simultaneous translation service is planned, and the event will be recorded. The conference agenda is available at the following [link].
